NorteShopping RJ, shopping centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
NorteShopping RJ is a large shopping complex with more than 350 stores located in the Cachambi neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. The building spans about 103,000 square meters and includes a cinema with multiple screens, restaurants, a gym, and entertainment areas alongside retail shops.
The shopping center opened in 1986 and was the first major commercial project in northern Rio de Janeiro. It has undergone three major expansions since its founding and received significant modernization projects, most notably a comprehensive building update that started in 2018.
The name reflects its location in the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro. It serves as a social meeting point where families and friends gather not just to shop but to spend time together, making it a central part of community life in the region.
The location has around 3,600 parking spaces and is easily accessible from multiple directions with several entrances for pedestrians and vehicles. The interior is well-lit and clearly laid out with updated signage and rest areas, making it straightforward to navigate.
The center features the Taste LAB, which opened in 2020 as Rio de Janeiro's first food and beverage experience space of its kind. Additionally, in 2022 the Pátio NorteShopping was added with over 2,000 square meters dedicated to dining options.
