The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Faculty of Law operates from the Palácio dos Condes dos Arcos, a landmark building in downtown Rio. The institution educates approximately three thousand students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in legal studies.
Established in 1891, the faculty grew through the merger of two private law schools in 1920. This progression made it Brazil's third oldest legal education institution.
