Museu Casa da Hera, Historical mansion museum in Vassouras, Brazil
The Casa da Hera Museum features 22 rooms spread across social, private, and business areas, with 69 windows throughout the mansion.
The house belonged to coffee commissioner Joaquim José Teixeira Leite in 1840 and remained in the family until Eufrásia Teixeira Leite's death in 1930.
The mansion contains original 19th-century furniture, silverware, and high fashion garments by Charles Worth, reflecting the Brazilian coffee elite lifestyle.
The museum occupies a 33,000 square meter estate with fruit trees and bamboo tunnels in the center of Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro state.
The walls of this adobe and wattle-and-daub construction are covered with ivy planted in 1897, giving the museum its distinctive name.
