Cine Odeon, Cultural center and cinema in Cinelândia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Cine Odeon is a cinema and cultural centre on Praça Floriano in Cinelândia, central Rio de Janeiro, housed in a building opened in 1926 on the site of the former Convento da Ajuda. Its single auditorium seats 600 and the building also holds a restaurant. Since reopening in 2015 as Centro Cultural Luiz Severiano Ribeiro, it stages shows, courses and lectures alongside films.

Founded in 1926, this cinema is the last active theater from Cinelândia's original entertainment district. It has witnessed decades of Rio de Janeiro's cultural evolution.

The center hosts film festivals, art exhibitions, music performances, and lectures year-round. It serves as a gathering place where artists and film lovers meet and share their work.

The name "Odeon" comes from ancient Greek for a roofed hall where poets and musicians performed; early US and Canadian nickel cinemas were called Nickelodeons. Ernesto Nazareth played in the cinema's waiting room and named his 1909 piece "Odeon" after it.
