Formosa

Formosa is a municipality in the state of Goiás, situated across terrain marked by rolling hills and deep river valleys with several waterways running through it. The town benefits from its location near Brasília and maintains good road connections to larger urban centers.

The settlement began as Arraial dos Couros and received its current name Vila Formosa da Imperatriz in 1843 to honor the Brazilian Empress. This naming marked a turning point in the municipality's development.

The municipality integrates Brazilian traditions through regular events celebrating regional music, agricultural heritage, and local food production methods.

The town is located roughly 80 kilometers northeast of Brasília and is connected to regional centers through a well-developed road network. Visitors will find good accessibility and can easily explore the surrounding area using various transportation options.
