Santa Cruz Cabrália, Beach municipality in Porto Seguro, Brazil.
Santa Cruz Cabrália is a coastal town on the northeastern coast of Bahia with white sand beaches and clear water. The area sits at about 75 meters elevation and features several coves and stretches of shoreline surrounded by vegetation.
Portuguese colonists founded the settlement on July 23, 1564, making it one of the earliest European settlements in the Bahia region. The location later became part of the colonial development along Brazil's coast.
The town preserves traditions from indigenous, African, and Portuguese influences that show up in regional festivals, local dances, and food throughout the year.
Visitors reach the town most easily through Porto Seguro International Airport, about 20 kilometers away, which has regular flights to major Brazilian cities. Driving is also possible and allows you to explore the surrounding coastal region.
The Cross Square near the beach marks where Portuguese explorers held the first Catholic mass on Brazilian soil in 1500. This makes it a place of historical importance for early European presence in South America.
