Uibaí

Uibaí is a municipality in northeastern Bahia that spreads across a large area in the Centro Norte Baiano mesoregion. The town sits at an elevation of about 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) and includes the main settlement, the District of Hidrolândia, and several smaller communities.

This municipality was created in 1961 and officially established on April 7, 1963, to serve the growing population of northeastern Bahia. Its founding reflects the development of the region during the mid-20th century.

The people here, called Uibaienses, keep northeastern Brazilian traditions alive through regional festivals that celebrate local food and music throughout the year. These gatherings form the heart of community life.

The location sits roughly 430 kilometers from Salvador and connects the neighboring town of Irecê with surrounding areas. It makes sense to use local road connections to explore the various settlements within the municipality.
