Aracaju Oceanarium, Oceanarium at Aracaju, Brazil
The Aracaju Oceanarium contains five freshwater aquariums and eleven saltwater tanks displaying fish species from the São Francisco River and Sergipe coast.
The facility was established as an integral component of the TAMAR Project, a national initiative focused on protecting marine turtles along Brazilian coastal areas.
The oceanarium functions as an educational center where visitors learn about marine ecosystems through direct observation and interaction with various aquatic species.
Visitors can watch shark feeding sessions at 4:30 PM, during which participants receive opportunities to touch these marine predators under staff supervision.
The rehabilitation center within the oceanarium provides medical care and recovery services for injured marine animals before returning them to their natural habitats.
