Ponte Aracaju-Barra dos Coqueiros, Road bridge in Aracaju, Brazil
The Aracaju-Barra dos Coqueiros Bridge spans 1,800 meters across the Sergipe River, featuring four vehicle lanes, a bicycle path, and a pedestrian walkway.
The bridge, officially named Construtor João Alves Bridge, opened on September 24, 2006, after employing nearly one thousand workers during its construction period.
The structure connects communities in five municipalities, including Aracaju, Barra dos Coqueiros, and Pirambu, fostering economic and social exchanges between coastal regions.
Access to the bridge is available from downtown Aracaju and Nossa Senhora do Socorro, providing a direct route to the Atlantic coast beaches.
The construction project, valued at 99 million Brazilian reais, includes a central span of 200 meters and stands as the largest urban bridge in northeastern Brazil.
