Stade Juvenal-Lamartine, Football stadium in Tirol district, Natal, Brazil
Juvenal-Lamartine Stadium is a football ground in Natal's Tirol district with a capacity of 5,000. It serves as home venue for Alecrim Futebol Clube, América de Natal and Clube Atlético Potengi. The pitch is surrounded by spectator stands, and the site is recognised as cultural heritage by the Municipal Government of Natal.
The stadium opened in 1928 as a venue for football competitions in the city. Over the decades, it hosted important matches and attracted teams from across the region.
The stadium is named after Juvenal Lamartine de Faria, a lawyer and politician from Rio Grande do Norte, honoured by the state's terrestrial sports league for his support of local sport as governor. It has hosted matches involving ABC, América de Natal, Alecrim and Potengi, and on 4 February 1968 Garrincha wore Alecrim's number 7 shirt in a friendly against Sport do Recife before more than 6,000 spectators.
The stadium stands in the Tirol district of Natal and holds 5,000 people. It is home ground for Alecrim, América de Natal and Clube Atlético Potengi, so match days depend on those clubs' fixtures. In December 2023 the courts confirmed ownership by the Rio Grande do Norte state government.
The stadium received electric lighting in 1946, allowing matches to be played in the evening and changing how the sport was organized locally. This innovation made it possible to schedule games more flexibly throughout the year.
