Kundelungu National Park

Kundelungu National Park is a protected area in Haut-Katanga Province that covers grasslands, savannahs, and forest corridors across a vast landscape. The park features diverse terrain and water sources that support wildlife throughout its boundaries.

The area began as a private hunting ground before becoming a national park in 1970. This change marked a shift toward protecting wildlife and natural landscapes in the region.

Local guides share their knowledge of regional wildlife, including antelopes, jackals, buffalo, and numerous bird species that inhabit the diverse landscapes.

Access to the park requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and accommodations operate without electricity, so bring a flashlight. Visitors should expect basic conditions and limited facilities throughout the area.

The park contains Lofoi Falls, which plunges 340 meters and ranks among Central Africa's highest waterfalls. This natural feature offers a dramatic sight that sets it apart from many other protected areas in the region.
