Kundelungu National Park

The park spans 7,600 square kilometers across extensive steppes with grassy savannah and forest galleries in the Katanga region at 180 kilometers northeast of Lubumbashi.

The grounds transformed from a private hunting area into a protected national park in 1970, marking a shift toward wildlife conservation in Central Africa.

Local guides share their knowledge of regional wildlife, including antelopes, jackals, buffalo, and numerous bird species that inhabit the diverse landscapes.

Visitors should bring flashlights as accommodation facilities within the park operate without electricity, and access requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle from Lubumbashi.

The park contains Lofoi Falls, measuring 340 meters in height, establishing it as one of the most substantial waterfalls in Central Africa.
