Maison Adam de Villiers, Historical house in Saint-Pierre, France
The Maison Adam de Villiers features a square floor plan with masonry construction and a Mansard roof covered in wooden shingles.
Built between 1770 and 1780 by Louis Antoine Nairac, the Royal storekeeper, this residence represents one of the earliest structures in Saint-Pierre.
The symmetrical facade with dressed basalt stone frames around openings demonstrates the architectural methods brought from metropolitan France to Reunion Island.
The property, located at 21 rue Marius et Ary Leblond, received official monument status in 1988 and remains under private ownership.
The curved lintels above the openings incorporate European architectural elements adapted to local building techniques of the 18th century.
