Mosquée de Saint-Louis

The Masdjid Mubarack is a mosque in Saint-Louis with Indo-Pakistani architectural style and a 33-meter minaret. Inside, the prayer hall spreads across the main floor while a mezzanine level serves women worshippers, and the ablution area features mosaic decorations.

This mosque was completed in 2002 to replace an earlier prayer house built in 1953 that had become too small. The new construction answered the growing needs of the Muslim community in Saint-Louis.

The wooden decorations and mosaics throughout the space were created by craftspeople from Tunisia and reflect Islamic traditions. Visitors can see how the community has shaped this place to serve their needs and values.

Visitors should arrange visits in advance, as the mosque requires scheduled appointments. Prayer calls sound four times daily throughout the day, allowing people to hear the rhythm of worship when they visit.

The ablution area contains mosaic artwork showing the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam, creating a meaningful connection during daily rituals. This artistic touch transforms a practical space into one with spiritual depth.
