Migori County, Administrative division in southwestern Kenya
Migori County extends over 2,005 square kilometers, sharing borders with Homa Bay County, Kisii County, Narok County, Tanzania, and Lake Victoria.
The establishment of Migori County occurred in 2013 following Kenya's constitutional reform, replacing the former Migori District within Nyanza Province.
The population includes Suba, Joluo, Kuria, Abagusii, Luhya, Somali, Indian, Arab, Agikuyu, and Nubian communities, making it Nyanza's second most diverse region.
The county maintains four district hospitals and five sub-district hospitals serving residents across multiple urban centers including Migori town and Kehancha.
Small-scale gold mining operations exist alongside agricultural activities, while the Sony Sugar Company supports over 100,000 households in the region.
