Paser

Paser is a regency in East Kalimantan that spreads across a large area and consists of ten administrative districts. Tana Paser serves as its administrative center and main hub.

The territory changed its name from Pasir to Paser in 2007 following administrative reforms. These changes resulted in the northeastern districts separating to form their own regency.

The name comes from the local language, where 'pa' means bright and 'ser' means spirit, reflecting how indigenous communities describe the place through their own words.

The region is connected through several administrative districts such as Batu Sopang, Muara Samu, and Batu Engau. It helps to understand these divisions when planning movement or visits throughout the territory.

Rainfall occurs throughout the year in this region, with brief dry spells in only two months. The temperature stays consistently warm year-round, shifting only slightly across the seasons.
