Mount Buangor State Park, Natural reserve at Mount Buangor, Victoria, Australia
Mount Buangor State Park is a protected reserve in Victoria with eucalyptus forests, creek beds, waterfalls, and steep rocky cliffs at about 685 meters elevation. The varied terrain creates different walking routes and viewpoints across the landscape.
The reserve was established by the Victorian government in 1989 to protect the ecosystems of the Western Victorian Highlands. The creation of this protected area aimed to preserve the natural landscape for the future.
The Eastern Maar Peoples maintain deep connections to this land as Traditional Owners, continuing their role in preserving the natural and cultural heritage.
The park has three camping areas with basic facilities like fire pits and picnic tables at different locations. Visitors should come prepared for changing weather and wear sturdy footwear for the many walking trails.
The park is home to many native animal species like Crimson Rosellas and Wedge-tailed Eagles that visitors can spot while walking. About 15 kilometers of walking tracks link different parts of the park together.
