Xavier College

The college spans several buildings on the main campus, including classrooms, sports grounds, and a memorial chapel overlooking the gardens. The site combines historic structures with modern facilities for teaching and extracurricular activities.

The Jesuits founded the college in 1878 and built the first structures on land where the foundation stone had been laid six years earlier. The campus grew over the decades into a large educational complex for Catholic instruction.

Students take Latin and Ancient Greek courses that have run without interruption since the founding. These subjects connect them to the classical roots of Jesuit education.

The institution offers both day and boarding places for boys from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The kindergarten level is open to both boys and girls.

The annual Maytime Fair, organized since 1952, raises funds to support Jesuit Mission development projects in Asia. The proceeds regularly exceed six figures and are generated through the combined efforts of families and alumni.
