Olveston Historic Home, House museum in Dunedin City, New Zealand
Olveston Historic Home contains original furnishings, art collections, and decorative elements spread across multiple floors of a Jacobean-style residence.
The house was built in 1906 for David Theomin and his family, who collected numerous artifacts during their travels before Dorothy Theomin gifted it to Dunedin in 1966.
The residence presents intact living spaces, artwork, and personal belongings that demonstrate the lifestyle of a merchant family in early 20th century New Zealand.
Visitors can join one of six daily guided tours starting from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with advance reservations recommended for groups of up to 15 people.
The house maintains its original 1906 condition, featuring a complete collection of artifacts, furnishings, and decorative items exactly as the Theomin family left them.
