Grand Casino Dunedin, Gaming establishment in central Dunedin, New Zealand

The Grand Casino Dunedin is a gaming establishment with slot machines and table games located in the city center. The facility includes a bar and restaurant serving different types of food alongside its gaming operations.

The Grand Hotel was built in 1883 to designs by Italian architect Louis Boldini, on the corner of Princes Street and High Street in The Exchange. The Southern Cross Hotel building has been heritage-listed since 1989. The casino opened there in 1999, and in 2021 it was renamed Grand Casino after the building; the new design won the Heritage Colour Maestro Award at the Resene Total Colour Awards.

The casino has operated since 1999 under the name Dunedin Casino until it was renamed Grand Casino in 2021, after the Grand Hotel that Louis Boldini designed in 1883. The Dunedin Casino Charitable Trust, founded in 1999, gives grants to Otago groups; by 2019 it had awarded over NZ$640,000, including to the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra and the New Zealand Cancer Control Trust.

The casino occupies the Southern Cross Hotel building at the corner of Princes Street and High Street in The Exchange, about 500 metres south of the city centre. The heritage-listed 1883 building has a wheelchair-accessible entrance. Entry is restricted to adults under New Zealand gambling rules.

In 2006 the Gambling Commission suspended the casino's licence for two consecutive days after finding the operator in breach of the Gambling Act 2003 over problem gambling; Spanish-language sources link the case to a woman who staked $6.6 million over three years. The Dunedin Casino Charitable Trust, founded in 1999, had given almost NZ$71,000 as of November 2023.
