Antigua Boat Sheds, Historic boathouse near Botanic Gardens in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The wooden structure stands on the banks of the Avon River, featuring traditional architectural elements and functioning boat rental facilities since 1883.
Albert Shaw and J.T. Tidd constructed the original boat sheds in 1882, marking the beginning of recreational boating services in central Christchurch.
The building represents New Zealand's maritime heritage through its continuous operation as a boat rental facility for over 130 years.
Visitors can rent kayaks, canoes, and rowboats daily, while the on-site cafe serves meals with views of the Avon River.
The structure survived major earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, maintaining its position as New Zealand's oldest commercial boat rental establishment.
