Worcester Chambers, Heritage building in Christchurch Central City, New Zealand.

Worcester Chambers is a three-story building on Worcester Street featuring Georgian revival architecture with red brick and stone accents throughout. The structure displays classical proportions and detailing typical of commercial buildings from this period.

Architect Cecil Wood designed this building in 1926, with construction completed in 1927, originally housing Digby's Commercial College, a secretarial school. The structure went through various uses over the following decades.

The building reflects the architectural style that shaped Christchurch's commercial district in the 1920s, with Georgian elements woven into the streetscape. You can see how this style became part of the city's identity during that era.

The building underwent seismic reinforcement in 2007, which proved effective during the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. These upgrades made it a solid example of earthquake resilience in this active region.

The building changed hands several times and briefly carried the name Gough Chambers before moving to new ownership. These transitions reflect the shifting commercial landscape of the city.
