Shand's Emporium, Heritage wooden building in central Christchurch, New Zealand
The two-story timber structure features five offices with individual windows, displaying traditional colonial architecture with a narrow rectangular layout.
Built in 1860 on John Shand's land, the building started as professional offices before its transformation into retail spaces in 1977.
The structure stands as a testament to early European commercial development in Christchurch, receiving Category 1 heritage protection in 1985.
Following earthquake damage in 2010, the building relocated to Manchester Street in 2015, where it now operates as Paddy McNaughton's Irish Pub.
The building sold for just one dollar to Christchurch Heritage Limited, which preserved it as one of the city's earliest commercial structures.
