Nairn Street Cottage

The Colonial Cottage displays original furnishings and artifacts across multiple rooms that showcase domestic life from 1858 to the 1970s.

William Wallis constructed this Georgian-style cottage in 1858 after arriving from England with his wife Catherine following a seventeen-week sea journey.

Each room represents different family members through time, from Catherine's 1860s nursery to Winifred's 1970s space, illustrating societal changes.

The museum offers guided tours at 1pm and 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with admission fees of 8 dollars for adults and 4 dollars for children.

The museum exhibits technological progression through household items, from handwritten letters to telegrams and rotary dial telephones over three generations.
