Horningsea Park, Heritage homestead in City of Liverpool, Australia

Horningsea Park is a Georgian homestead located along Camden Valley Way with thirteen rooms and a detached kitchen situated on its original colonial estate grounds. The building displays early 1800s construction methods and materials typical of rural properties established during the early settlement period.

Lieutenant Joshua John Moore, a Battle of Waterloo veteran, received a 500-acre land grant from Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1819 to establish this pastoral estate. The property developed into an agricultural center during the 1800s as the surrounding region grew and farming practices became more established.

The homestead served as residence for Polish explorer Pawel Strzelecki during the 1840s, marking a period of agricultural transition in Australian development.

The homestead sits set back from Camden Valley Way and is surrounded by land that reflects its isolated position during the 1800s. Visitors should wear appropriate footwear as access involves walking over unpaved ground across the property.

Polish explorer Pawel Strzelecki lived here during the 1840s and used the property as a base for his scientific observations and field expeditions. His time at the site contributed to important geographical discoveries about the Australian landscape.
