Glover cottages, Colonial Georgian cottages in Kent Street, Millers Point, Sydney, Australia.
Two connected stone cottages stand elevated on an artificial rock shelf on the east side of Kent Street, featuring Colonial Georgian architectural elements.
Thomas Glover, a former convict turned publican, acquired these cottages built between 1820 and 1838, marking the early settlement period of Sydney.
The cottages represent the transformation of convict laborers into successful business owners during the colonial development of New South Wales.
The Australian Institute of International Affairs New South Wales has maintained its headquarters at 124 Kent Street since 1978.
Local residents named these structures 'The Ark' due to their elevation above neighboring buildings following the lowering of Kent Street.
