Fort Macquarie, Historic fort in Australia
Fort Macquarie was a fortress on Bennelong Point in Sydney Cove.
The fort was constructed between 1818 and 1821 to defend the harbor from potential attacks.
The site of Fort Macquarie later became the location of the Sydney Opera House.
While the Fort no longer exists, it remains an integral part of Sydney's colonial history.
