St Mary's the Virgin Anglican Church

St Mary's the Virgin is a Victorian Gothic Anglican church in Maitland built with stone construction and detailed craftsmanship throughout its structure. The building features a prominent tower, a nave with clerestory windows for light, and lower-pitched roofs covering the side aisles.

The foundation stone was laid in 1860 with services beginning in 1867, when architect Edmund Blacket's design replaced an earlier 1843 building. This marked an important architectural addition to the region's religious landscape during the nineteenth century.
