The Criterion Hotel, built in 1917 by Connolly & Bell, replaced a single-story timber hotel that had operated on the site since the 1860s.
The pressed metal ceiling in the Public Bar displays a Virgin Mary motif, reflecting the architectural elements preserved from the early twentieth century.
Located at 84 Palmerin Street, the hotel provides multiple bars, lounges, and accommodation wings with direct access to Warwick's central district.
The Allman family maintained ownership of the establishment from 1887 until 1968, contributing to its continuous operation as a social center.
