The two-story brick mansion features wide verandahs, decorative cast-iron elements, and ornate features throughout its expansive structure on Seminary Road.
Built between 1889 and 1891 for sawmiller Thomas Lorimer Smith, the mansion reflects the success of early entrepreneurs in the Rosewood-Marburg region.
The property transformed from a private residence to St Vincent's Seminary in 1945, serving as an educational institution for missionaries evacuated from New Guinea.
The mansion now operates as a function center and holiday accommodation, offering visitors opportunities to experience historical Queensland architecture firsthand.
Local red cedar from Brisbane Valley and bricks manufactured in the area were used in the construction, showcasing regional materials of the 1890s.
