Garowie, Heritage-listed villa in Eastern Heights, Queensland, Australia.

The double-story brick residence features verandahs on both levels, with cast iron lace balustrading and paired support columns throughout the structure.

Samuel Shenton designed this residence in 1888 for James Clarke Cribb, son of Benjamin Cribb who established the notable Cribb and Foote business.

The residence reflects the architectural preferences of affluent families in late nineteenth-century Ipswich through its grand Victorian design and decorative elements.

Located at 59 Whitehill Road, the property maintains its original masonry fence and mature gardens that provide natural screening from the street.

The name Garowie derives from an Aboriginal term meaning Fig Tree Camp, referring to the Moreton Bay Fig trees that grew on the property.
