West Hill National Park

West Hill National Park extends across 1,066 hectares of land, containing intertidal wetlands, mangrove systems, and natural salt marsh ecosystems near the Queensland coast.

The Queensland Department of National Parks established this protected area on August 8, 2003, to safeguard the natural wetland systems and coastal environments.

The park maintains 353 hectares of wetlands that connect to the broader ecosystem of the Great Barrier Reef, supporting Queensland's environmental conservation initiatives.

Visitors accessing the southern beach section need to navigate a 4WD track across tidal flats, leading to a 1-kilometer stretch with 30 private shacks.

The park features two low-energy beaches divided by West Hill Creek's 400-meter-wide mouth, bordered by bedrock to the north and a 6-kilometer barrier system.
