The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace is a worship structure in downtown Honolulu designed in European style with a vaulted ceiling and Italian marble altar. Inside, elaborate stained glass windows and ornate furnishings create a formal and reverent space for prayer and contemplation.

The building was established in 1843 and holds the distinction of being the oldest cathedral in continuous use throughout the entire United States. Its longevity reflects the early and sustained presence of the Catholic faith in Hawaii.

The Hawaiian name Malia o ka Malu Hale Pule Nui appears alongside French, Portuguese and English titles on plaques around the courtyard statue of Our Lady of Peace, blessed on 24 December 1893 by Bishop Gulstan Ropert. The statue marks the site of the 1828 mission church, and its base is inscribed "In memory of the first Roman Catholic Church, Our Lady of Peace 1827–1893."

The cathedral sits at the north end of Fort Street Mall in downtown Honolulu, with a second cathedra at the Co-Cathedral of Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus. The building is open to the public, and guided tours can be arranged; it remains an active parish for Mass. Look for the courtyard statue of Our Lady of Peace, blessed on 24 December 1893, whose base plaques are engraved in Hawaiian, English, French and Portuguese.

The Aeolian-Skinner organ, Opus 916, dedicated on 9 September 1934, is the third instrument in the cathedral and replaced an 1876 English organ; its predecessor of 1847 was the first pipe organ in Hawaii. The tower holds two bells cast in France, and the clock on the back wall is the oldest in Hawaii.
