Mount Paniau

Mount Paniau is a shield volcano on Niihau island that rises to roughly 1,300 feet and displays a broad, flat-domed profile with scattered cinder cones across its surface. The geological structure dominates the upper portion of the island's terrain.

The volcano formed millions of years ago and played a key role in building the entire island of Niihau through successive eruptions. Its volcanic activity also contributed to the formation of the nearby smaller Lehua island.
