Rolling Hills

Rolling Hills is a gated residential city in Los Angeles County sprawling across three square miles of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, featuring private roads and three controlled entrance gates. The community is governed by a five-member city council whose regular meetings take place at 2 Portuguese Bend Road.

The area was incorporated as a city in 1957, developing from lands that were previously part of Mexican land grants in California. This foundation shaped how the community eventually grew into its current form.

The community enforces strict architectural standards that require white exterior finishes on homes and maintains extensive equestrian paths woven throughout its neighborhoods. These features define both how the place looks and how residents interact with their surroundings.
