Korean Bell of Friendship, Bell monument in Los Angeles, California.
The Korean Bell of Friendship is a massive bronze bell housed in a stone pavilion in Angel's Gate Park, in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
It was presented by the Republic of Korea to the American people to celebrate the bicentennial of the United States and to symbolize friendship between the two nations in 1976.
The design of the bell structure reflects the traditional architecture of Korea, and it is used for ceremonies such as New Year's Eve and Korean American Day.
The bell and its pavilion are situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, offering expansive views.
The bell does not have a clapper but is struck from the outside with a wooden log.
