Built in 1921, it was donated to the city in 1975 by oil tycoon J. Paul Getty.
The house serves as a venue for numerous civic events and activities.
It is located in Windsor Square, a historic and affluent neighborhood.
Despite being the official residence, not all mayors have chosen to live there.
