Torres del Parque

Torres del Parque is a residential complex with three curved towers of exposed brick located near Plaza de Toros in Bogotá. The towers rise 117 meters and feature asymmetrical floor plans with accessible rooftops, housing around 300 apartments in various sizes.

The complex was designed by architect Rogelio Salmona and built between 1968 and 1970 to revitalize an abandoned sector of the city. The project became a turning point in Bogotá's urban renewal, showing how modern design could transform neglected neighborhoods.

The complex reflects the region's building traditions through its extensive use of locally made clay bricks in every surface. The open plazas between the towers echo pre-Columbian spatial design and create gathering spaces for residents and visitors.

The site sits on steep terrain, so wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore the different levels connecting the towers. Public spaces throughout the complex are freely accessible without physical barriers, making it easy to wander and discover the layout.

The three towers follow a radial design that adapts to the steep topography, creating a distinctive outline against Bogotá's eastern hills. This approach to working with the landscape rather than against it was uncommon for urban development at the time.
