Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Medellín, Gothic Revival church in Medellín, Colombia.

The Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús is a church designed in the Gothic Revival style, distinguished by its notable architectural presence in the city center. Inside, white and yellow walls with gold details are complemented by colorful stained glass windows that cast patterned light throughout the interior.

A Belgian architect designed the church in 1923, and a local construction company carried out the work over nearly two decades until its completion in 1941. The project was part of the city's effort to transform the area from an industrial zone into a residential neighborhood.

The church received recognition as a National Monument of Colombia in 1998, marking its lasting influence on the architectural heritage of Medellín.

The church is located two blocks from Cisneros metro station, making it easy to reach. Visiting hours end at 2:30 PM daily, so arriving in the morning or early afternoon gives you enough time to walk through and observe the interior details.

The church was recognized as a National Monument of Colombia in 1998, acknowledging its architectural importance to the city. This designation shows that the building holds a significant place in Medellín's urban history beyond its role as a place of worship.
