Torre BBVA Mexico, Office tower in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico
Torre BBVA Mexico is an office skyscraper on Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City's business district. The 50-story building rises 235 meters and features vertical gardens positioned at regular intervals along its exterior.
Construction began in 2010 and was completed in 2015, followed by an official opening in early 2016. The project contributed to the ongoing modernization of Paseo de la Reforma as a major commercial corridor in Mexico City.
The tower reflects a design philosophy that merges Mexican architectural traditions with contemporary methods visible in its exterior and interior spaces. Vertical gardens distributed across multiple levels give the building a connection to natural elements that shapes how people experience the street around it.
The tower is accessible from the busy Paseo de la Reforma avenue and has multiple entry points at street level. Keep in mind this is an active office building that gets crowded during business hours, so early morning visits are more pleasant.
The structure uses a sophisticated support system with six large columns and inverted V-shaped frames designed to absorb seismic activity. This engineering approach makes it one of Mexico's most earthquake-resistant buildings.
