Hacienda del Lencero, Colonial estate in Emiliano Zapata Municipality, Mexico
The main building of Hacienda del Lencero features two floors with multiple rooms, including weapon rooms, game rooms, and a distinctive bird corridor.
Juan Lencero, a soldier of Hernán Cortés, founded the estate in 1525 after receiving royal land grants along the main road to Veracruz.
The museum displays a collection of period furniture and objects that represent daily life during Mexico's colonial and early independence periods.
The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM, with general admission at 50 pesos and reduced rates for students and seniors.
General Antonio López de Santa Anna, who served as President of Mexico eleven times, owned this hacienda for fourteen years starting in 1842.
