Museo Regional de Aguascalientes, History museum in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
The Museo Regional de Aguascalientes is a history museum housed in a neoclassical building with pink quarry stone columns and grooved capitals resembling a temple facade. The structure contains five permanent exhibition galleries with fossils, colonial artworks, and other regional artifacts.
The building was constructed in 1903 by architect Refugio Reyes Rivas and originally served as a state teacher training school. It was converted into a museum in 1988 to preserve and present the region's history.
The museum displays regional artworks and objects reflecting different periods of Mexican history. Visitors can see the artistic expressions that have shaped local identity here.
The museum is located in central Aguascalientes and easy to access on foot. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, educational programs, and attend regular cultural events such as lectures, concerts, and art workshops.
The museum features a significant reproduction of the Malgre Tout sculpture along with works by Mexican artists Francisco Diaz de Leon and Gabriel Fernandez Ledesma. This collection highlights artistic voices that visitors might otherwise overlook.
