Sacred Cenote, Sacred sinkhole in Mexico
The Sacred Cenote is a natural pit, or sinkhole, located in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico.
It was used by the ancient Mayans for sacrificial offerings.
The cenote is considered sacred by the Mayan people and is a popular tourist attraction today.
Visitors can view the cenote from a platform at the edge of the water.
Despite its dark history, it's now a habitat for numerous species of fish.
