The construction of this Catholic church in 1906 represented the architectural preferences of German immigrants who rejected the Spanish mission style promoted by church leaders.
Ferdinand Stockert and Hermann Kern decorated the interior walls in 1912 with hand-drawn designs on canvas, including symbols of angels, crosses, and Stars of David.
The church, located at 2833 Farm to Market Road 2672, holds religious services on Saturdays at 6:30 PM and Mondays at 6:00 AM.
The interior wooden structure remains protected by its external brick shell, demonstrating an early 20th-century solution to Texas weather conditions.
