Berry Springs Park, Protected natural area in Georgetown, Texas
Berry Springs Park is a protected natural area in Georgetown covering more than 300 acres with natural springs, pecan groves, woodlands, and prairies. Two intersecting creeks run through the grounds and form a small lake that serves as a focal point for the landscape.
The natural springs supplied water to early settlers during the development of Williamson County in the early 1900s. This location became important for establishing the first communities in the area.
The park preserves local agricultural heritage through its century-old pecan trees and historic structures that tell stories of early settlement. Visitors can see how the land was used by farmers and understand the connection between people and nature that shaped this area.
Multiple facilities are scattered throughout the grounds including pavilions, picnic areas, and grills for cooking. Restrooms and water fountains are available, and children's playgrounds offer activities for families visiting the park.
Two resident donkeys named Lil' Bob and Pedro roam freely throughout the grounds and greet visitors with curiosity. These gentle animals have become part of the park's character and add an unexpected touch to the natural setting.
