Tyler Museum of Art, Art museum in Tyler, Texas.
Tyler Museum of Art is an art museum with three galleries spanning about 17,000 square feet of exhibition space. The galleries display paintings, sculptures, photographs, and prints from multiple artists.
The museum was founded in 1971, growing out of earlier efforts by the Tyler Service League's arts committee that had operated a mobile museum called Picture Ladies. That grassroots project paved the way for the permanent institution that exists today.
The collection features artists from Texas and showcases regional and national artistic perspectives through rotating shows. Visitors can experience the diversity of local creators and contemporary artistic voices in the galleries.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM. A café and shop are available for visitors during these hours.
The museum hosts an annual high school art exhibition, giving young artists the chance to display their work in a professional setting. This event supports emerging talent and strengthens connections with the local community.
