The Saenger Theatre features Classical Revival architecture with marble floors, a crystal chandelier, and seating for 1,500 people across two levels.
Architect Emile Weil designed this entertainment venue in 1924 following a fire that destroyed the previous Hauber Theater at the same location.
The theater presented performances by numerous entertainers including Harry Houdini, Will Rogers, John Philip Sousa, and hosted school graduations and community events.
Located at the intersection of West Second Avenue and Pine Street, the Saenger Theatre stands as a National Register of Historic Places monument.
During its opening week in November 1924, the theater screened the silent film 'America' and established new attendance records for both matinee and evening shows.
