Playa Baracoa, Beach settlement on the northern coast of Artemisa Province, Cuba

Playa Baracoa is a coastal village in the municipality of Bauta, Artemisa Province, Cuba, west of Havana. It lies between the mouths of the Santa Ana and Baracoa rivers, along the Straits of Florida, and grew around the Laguna El Doctor. Its quarters are Cinco Casitas, Hollywood, La Loma and Los Cocos; the Havana–Mariel motorway crosses it in the middle.

The first land grant of the territory was made in 1558 as the corral de Baracoa; in 1568 Bartolomé Basago received the site for small livestock. Sugar production began in 1720 with the San Cristóbal de Baracoa mill, which ground 40,000 arrobas of cane per harvest. The Barrio de Baracoa was founded on 27 September 1862 beside the beach, and between 1930 and 1940 Havana's upper class built wooden summer houses there.

The village grew around the Laguna El Doctor and is divided into the quarters of Cinco Casitas, Hollywood, La Loma and Los Cocos; Los Cocos is a residential reparto for active and retired military personnel. The name Baracoa comes from the corral de Baracoa, first granted as land in 1558. Many wooden summer houses built between 1930 and 1940 by Havana families still stand and some remain in use as summer residences.

Playa Baracoa lies on the Havana–Mariel motorway (Circuito Norte) and is the northern end of the provincial road 2–61 to Bauta; the A4 motorway exit "Bauta" is 3.8 km south. The village stretches east–west between the mouths of the Santa Ana and Baracoa rivers and is crossed in the middle by the motorway. Playa Baracoa Airport (UPB) is west of the village, beyond the Baracoa River bridge, in Caimito territory.

Playa Baracoa lies between the mouths of the Santa Ana and Baracoa rivers, and its 2.6 km coastal trench shows accumulations of sand and outcrops of "dientes de perro" rock. The village grew around the Laguna El Doctor and is divided into the quarters of Cinco Casitas, Hollywood, La Loma and Los Cocos.
