Lone Star Flight Museum, Aviation museum at Ellington International Airport, Houston, US
The Lone Star Flight Museum displays over 40 historical aircraft and more than 1500 artifacts at Ellington International Airport. The collection features planes from different eras of aviation history.
Following severe damage from Hurricane Ike in 2008, the museum relocated from Galveston to Houston. The new facility opened in 2017.
The Texas Aviation Hall of Fame section honors individuals from the state who advanced aviation and space exploration. Visitors can learn about the people whose work shaped these fields.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and offers flight experiences in historical aircraft. There is also an Aviation Learning Center for educational programs.
The museum's aircraft are not just displays but regularly fly to air shows across the United States. These planes cover over 40,000 miles each year.
