Atlantis Paradise Island, Luxury resort on Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Atlantis Paradise Island is a large hotel complex on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, combining accommodation, water attractions, and marine enclosures. Five separate buildings stand along the coastline, connected by gardens and walkways overlooking turquoise water.
The resort opened in 1998 after the former building was fully renovated to appeal to a broader audience. Later expansions added more towers and areas, growing the property to its current size.
The name refers to the mythical lost city, reflected in the design with reconstructed temples and ruins made of pale sandstone. Restaurants serve dishes featuring conch and red snapper, with some chefs raised on nearby islands.
The property sits near the airport and can be reached by a direct shuttle that stops at several entrances. Each of the five buildings has separate reception areas, so it helps to confirm in advance where to check in.
A network of tunnels and stairs runs through artificial ruins, allowing you to move between buildings without always stepping outside. Some passages run directly beside aquariums and offer views of larger rays and sharks as you walk past.
