Raymond James Stadium, Professional football stadium in Tampa, United States.
Raymond James Stadium is a large American football venue in north Tampa with approximately 65,000 seats. The facility includes wide tiers of seating, modern video boards in both end zones, and numerous concession stands distributed throughout the grounds.
The facility was built with public funding of approximately 170 million dollars and opened in September 1998 with a Buccaneers victory. Since then the stadium has undergone several renovations to meet modern standards and provide greater comfort for visitors.
The stadium serves as home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the University of South Florida Bulls football team. Each year the venue also hosts the Outback Bowl, a college game that draws fans from across different regions.
The stadium offers multiple parking areas and accessible entrances, making it easier for visitors to find their way around. Signage guides guests through the sprawling grounds and helps locate different sections of the seating bowl.
A replica pirate ship over 100 feet (30 m) long stands in the north end zone and fires cannons when the home team scores. The ship is visible from most seats and remains one of the most unusual features in any North American sports facility.
